 Half Square Triangle Tutural

 Getting Ready for Quilt Market
I have been busy trying to get a couple of new patterns finished up. Making models, and getting them quilted and photographed.

Schoolhouse is half hour informational sessions at Quilt Market that shop owners attend, to hear about new products, how to use them, what the trends are.

I will be discussing using Presencia/Finca Perle Cotton #16 in the top of the machine for texture and machine- freehand free motion embroidery. Also Presencia's El Molino hand embroidery thread in the bobbin, for reverse bobbin stitching, as well as the heavier Perle Cottons in the bobbin.  You can see a little of what I am working on for Schoolhouse, also on the blog. http://www.stonecottagequilts.com/blog/

2008 Fundraiser
To Quilt or Not to Quilt:
This is the other major project that I have been working on and preparing for.
This year To Quilt or Not to Quilt is Thursday, May 1, 10am-4pm .
The Creative Spirit Center , in Midland , Michigan has donated their facility once again for our use, including the main floor gallery space and the lower level kitchen and library seating for our pot-luck luncheon.

We welcome all who would love to participate.
For the Project Info and announcement click here
We need an RSVP

The Fundraiser is for  NON Quilters and Quilters alike.
Many who have participated with us in the past don’t even sew.  They come for the comradery and fun.

We have what we call the Ugly Fabric Auction.

This began with participants donating quilting fabric to the auction.  Always trying to come up with who could bring the Ugliest piece. You know that one that you look at and think:
What was I thinking, when I purchased THAT!

It has evolved to having donations of quilting notions, books, patterns and best of all finished quilted items, such as table runners, small quilts or quilted art items.

We welcome all who would like to participate.

All Proceeds go to Midland County Shelterhouse.

If your group is in need of a meeting space this is a nice facility to rent. For more info: http://www.creativespiritcenter.org/facility_rental.html
